Monday - 01.09.
On Monday of the Autumn School (Sep 1), we will visit the GWDG, the data and IT service center jointly used by the University of Göttingen and the Max Planck Society.
Some of you may have been there and listened to the talks for visitors in the course of a joint location visit 2023 of the MPSP and our sister school MTL. This time however, we will also be able to explore the technical wing of the building.
Afterwards, we will have a tour of the Labs of our Fellow, Stefan Hell, famous for his work on superresolution fluorescence microscopy, which led to different methods like STED and RESOLFT.
Friday - 05.09.
On Friday of the Autumn School (Sep 5), we will visit 3 research groups of our Fellows located in the Physics Building at the Nordcampus of the University of Göttingen.
Jan Huisken’s research focus is multiscale biology where he systematically studies developmental processes in living organisms using custom, non-invasive biomedical imaging techniques like advanced, customized light sheet microscopy.
Tim Salditt is an expert for X-ray physics concerned with the structure and interactions in biomolecular matter, especially with the use of X-ray microscopy.
Finally, Claus Ropers is investigating ultrafast dynamics in solids, nanostructures, and surfaces using ultrafast electron microscopy.
