Friedrich Schiller University Jena (FSU) processes personal data in connection with the organization and implementation of the event
"Creating the Digital Academy – Perspectives & Reflections on Digital Research".
With this data protection notice, we would like to inform you, in accordance with Art. 13 of the DSGVO, about the processing of your personal data in connection with this event.

3. Purpose and legal basis of processing
a) Purpose of processing
The personal data collected in the submission and registration form (name, contact details, institutional affiliation, and submitted contribution) are processed for the purpose of organizing the event. This includes program planning, contacting participants, and publishing names and contributions on the Indico event platform and the event website.
b) Legal basis
The legal basis for processing your data for the above purposes is your consent pursuant to Art. 6(1)(a) DSGVO. According to Art. 4(11) DSGVO, consent is any freely given, specific, informed, and unambiguous indication of the data subject’s wishes by which they signify agreement to the processing of personal data relating to them, by a statement or by a clear affirmative action. By submitting your contribution or participating in the conference, we assume that you are providing such a clear affirmative action.
You may withdraw your consent at any time by contacting Digital.academy@uni-jena.de. The lawfulness of processing carried out prior to withdrawal remains unaffected.
4. Recipients of personal data
After entering your data, it will be transmitted to the event’s organizing team for the purpose of compiling the conference program, contacting you, and providing information related to the conference. Your personal data will not be shared with third parties.
5. Data retention period
Your data will be stored for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes outlined in section 3 and will then be deleted in accordance with DSGVO requirements. This will occur no later than eight weeks after the event has taken place. The general data protection regulations of Friedrich Schiller University Jena also apply.
6. Your rights
As a data subject, you have the following legal rights:
a) Right of access (Art. 15 DSGVO)
b) Right to rectification (Art. 16 DSGVO)
c) Right to erasure (Art. 17 DSGVO)
d) Right to restriction of processing (Art. 18 DSGVO)
e) Right to data portability (Art. 20 DSGVO)
f) Right to object (Art. 21 DSGVO)
g) Right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority (Art. 77 DSGVO)
Please note that the right of access (Art. 15 DSGVO), the right to data portability (Art. 20 DSGVO), and the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority (Art. 77 DSGVO) are granted without preconditions. The other rights can only be exercised under the conditions specified by law.
